We are offering young people in Merton an exciting opportunity to pair up with a befriender. They will listen to you with an open mind and can provide positive advice.
You can spend two hours each month together doing things you both decide you want to do. Maybe pop to the cinema, try a new club, have a kick about or just a chat with a cuppa! People who have a befriender said it makes them feel happier, more confident, connected with the community and able to try new things.
If you are 18 - 25 and would like to be a positive role model in a young person’s life, then why not become a befriender? Help them access services, overcome personal barriers and try new things!
If you are open minded and ready to listen, with a positive attitude, we want to hear from you. Be an inspirational person and make a real difference to a young person’s life.
Befrienders meet at flexible times with their befriendee for up to 12 months. There is full training and support along the way as well as plenty of activity suggestions so you can find fun things to do together.
