Opportunity Description

Taking place on Saturday 6 October 2018, Waggy Wimbledon is our inaugural fundraising dog walk taking place on Wimbledon Common.

Dogwalkers will be starting at the Hand in Hand pub, and will have a choice of a 4k and approximately 7k walk around Wimbledon Common in aid of Wimbledon Guild. It is the first time we're holding this event and we need your help! The walks start at 10.30, so we would ideally like volunteers available from 9am - 2pm. Other timings could be discussed.

We are looking for volunteers to help us manage the event and roles include:

Managing registration
Ticket sales
Marshaling the route, cheering on the dogs and walkers!
Presenting goody bags

It will be a great day out, with wagging tails and smiling faces! Bring your friends and family along!

Funds raised will go to supporting Wimbledon Guild's mission of helping to improve the wellbeing of people in Merton.

Waggy Wimbledon will take place on Wimbledon Common. Volunteers will need to dress appropriately for the weather. Bring along a bag with extra necessities, such as sunscreen or an umbrella. All route marshals will be wearing Hi-Vis shirts, and t-shirts are available for those selling raffle tickets.

Volunteers with local knowledge of the Common and/or marshaling experience would be desired, but is not necessary.

Volunteers should feel comfortable around dogs. Even if you prefer cats, we'd love for you to join us! Unfortunately, volunteers will not be able to bring their own dogs for the event.

All volunteers will receive an email briefing with necessary information, and will also receive emergency procedures and event information on the day.

Travel expenses can be reimbursed against receipts and refreshments will be provided on the day.
