Opportunity Description

We are seeking volunteers who can commit to regularly running our drop-in cafe on Monday afternoons (2-4pm), Tuesday mornings (11am - 1pm), Wednesday afternoons (2-4pm), Thursdays (2-5pm) and Fridays (2 - 5pm).  We find that more and more local people just want to pop into the cafe to have a sit down and possibly a chat - just somewhere to go.  At these drop-ins, we serve teas, coffee, hot chocolate, cuppa soups, squash and biscuits and we have a water machine with free chilled drinking water.  There is very little food preparation required, just a clean kitchen and a friendly face are all that are needed!  If customers seem to need more help and support the volunteers can explain about some of Commonside's services or show our flyers but will not be expected to provide this support themselves.  The charges for the drinks and biscuits are kept simple to make the money handling easy.  We are looking for volunteers who can commit to cover one or more of these slots, and they will be working in pairs or in threes.
