Opportunity Description

Sustainable Merton’s growing team of Community Champions are working within their communities to encourage residents to live more sustainably for the benefit of themselves, their children and the environment.

We are looking for more volunteers from all backgrounds and experience to join our team to undertake a variety of important environmental engagement work throughout the borough of Merton.

Activities include: litter picks, community gardening, advising local community groups and business and working with schools issues such as air pollution. You will also signpost your neighbours to information on a whole range of issues, including health and well being, employment and financial/debt advice.

As a Community Champion, you will be trained by Sustainable Merton on a range of sustainability issues, including air quality, energy and waste and will learn and develop new and existing skills, whilst making a positive difference in your community.

We would love to hear from anyone interested in taking part in this exciting new initiative and will arrange an informal meeting with you to chat about the aims of the project and the role you wish to play in helping us to achieve these!
