Opportunity Description

We are actively seeking volunteers to facilitate our 'Cancer Coach' telephone support groups. 'Cancer Coach' is a telephone support group that runs every week for 6 weeks. The course is for people who have completed their treatment for cancer but are now struggling with adapting to life after treatment and might benefit from support with managing their mental health or emotional wellbeing.

Cancer Coach volunteers are key to the successful delivery of our groups. Facilitators lead the call each week, taking up to 6 participants through a series of discussion topics and excersices that aim to give them the confidence and skills to manage their anxiety, worry or low mood at home.

This is a rewarding volunteer role and is perhaps particularly suitable for anyone who has previous experience of facilitaing groups, delivering workshops and training, coaching or counselling. However we are happy to hear from anyone who has excellent communication skills, warmth , empathy and good listening skills.

This volunteering is home based and can be flexible depending on the volunteers availiability.
